Toffee Squares

Makes: 2 dozen small squares

Ingredients:
1 cup Butter
1 cup Brown sugar, packed
1 Egg yolk
1 tsp Vanilla
2 cups All-purpose flour
1/4 tsp Salt
4 Hershey Milk Chocolate Bars
1/2 cup Walnuts or pecans

 

Preparation:
Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt until dough is well blended.

Spread in a rectangle about 13X10" on greased baking sheet, leaving about 1" all around edge of baking sheet.

Bake 20-15 minutes, or until nicely browned.

Remove from oven and immediately place separated squares of chocolate on top. Let stand until soft; spread evenly over surface.

Sprinkle with nuts.

Cut into small squares while still warm.
